Detailed Walkthrough [edit]

Travel to Solstheim, to a small unmarked army camp along the coast north of Skaal Hamlet, not to be confused with the nearby camp of Haknir's Shoal on an islet to the northwest.
At the military camp, you lot will detect the trunk of a Dark Elf peddler who was apparently killed by Horkers. To kickoff the quest, loot his body for the Peddler's Journal, which describes his interactions with a tribe of rieklings from an island to the due north. The peddler was attempting to trade with the rieklings, who had mistaken his netch leather armor for food. They also fabricated off with a book explaining how to craft netch leather armor, believing information technology to be a cookbook. Netch leather is of class highly toxic, which forced the peddler to begin importing regular leather from the mainland and dyeing it to fool the rieklings and prevent their untimely deaths.
Afterwards reading the book, you will need to swim due north to the riekling camp to come across with the Riekling Tribe Leader. Unlike nigh of their kind, the rieklings on this island are non-hostile and volition allow yous to arroyo.
Leather Delivery [edit]
The Tribe Leader is a riekling of few words. After a brief one-sided exchange, he will hand you lot a Riekling Hunting Party Sketch, a rough cartoon which identifies the location of a hunting political party sent to track downwardly a Behemothic Balderdash Netch. At this indicate you volition have several branching options for how to deal with the tribe.
You can try to Persuade the Tribe Leader that ingesting netch leather will kill him and that he should give y'all the crafting volume. If you can't manage to convince him, your only selection if you wish to relieve the rieklings is to use a tanning rack to create Imitation Netch Leather, by combining regular leather with charcoal and a purple mount blossom. This tin can and so be given to the Tribe Leader to progress the quest.
Alternatively, you tin can runway down the hunting political party along the coast just eastward of the Sun Stone. You will go far to find a party of rieklings engaged in battle with a family of netches (the Giant Bull Netch along with a Behemothic Betty Netch and a Netch Calf). Both sides are protected so information technology volition be up to you to deliver the killing blows and decide the battle. You can kill the rieklings in society to save the netch, or y'all tin can join in and claim the Giant Bull Netch Leather for yourself. You can then deliver the leather to the Tribe Leader to progress the quest.
It is possible to obtain both the Giant Bull Netch Leather and the Faux Netch Leather and decide which you want to give to the tribe. Whichever selection you make, you will be rewarded with a primal which unlocks a nearby breast containing the book Crafting with Netch Leather as well equally a full set of Painted Netch Leather armor. Loot the contents to complete the quest.
Crafting with Netch Leather [edit]
Although the quest completes once you loot the breast, y'all volition be given a miscellaneous objective to read the crafting book. Doing so volition give yous ii further objectives: the choice to either craft your own set of Netch Leather armor, or to instead track down a shipment somewhere in Fort Hraggstad.
Information technology is appropriate to search Fort Hraggstad for a full gear up rather than crafting your own, as the chest is located but inside the fort's master entrance and contains an additional unique particular, the Boots of Blinding Speed. This artifact is legendary for the extreme speed at which information technology allows the wearer to travel, although unfortunately information technology curses you with full blindness while equipped. This can be somewhat negated through the utilise of Night Heart. One time y'all've obtained a set of Netch Leather armor, both objectives volition consummate.
Notes [edit]
- The Boots of Blinding Speed previously appeared in TES III: Morrowind and diameter a similar enchantment which could besides exist negated through magical effects.
- The Painted Netch Leather Armor cannot exist crafted and tin simply be found within the Riekling Tribe Chest. It'southward armor rating is higher than all the other variants.
